The interlocking rhythms used in this piece are informed by the Balinese melodic structures known as kotekans. The composition itself is open and minimal, and the final arrangement of the piece was arrived at as an ensemble during the rehearsal process. The piece which is performed on two acoustic guitars, violin, and tablas illustrates the diversity of sound and styles supported by this rhythmic concept.
