For beginners, structured units will get you playing fun songs early. For intermediate and advanced players, enjoy deeper dives on style, technique, and theory.

More about me: I have been lucky to work with a few fantastic music schools including Rhodes School of Music where I have seen an average of over twenty students per week, the Young Musicians Foundation where I taught guitar classes to underserved youth in Los Angeles, and the California Institute of the Arts where I tutored music theory students at the college level.
“Jake is a great teacher. His talent, experience, and knowledge of music is portrayed throughout all his music and lessons. He is friendly, outgoing, and accommodating and a very nice person”

As a performer and composer, I have recorded guitar for Netflix’s Grace And Frankie, scored films featured at the CalArts REDCAT Film Showcase, released multiple albums on LA jazz label Orenda Records, and performed with bands throughout Los Angeles and the Bay Area.
I spent two years in USC's Studio/Jazz Guitar Department, and two years at the California Institute of the Arts where I earned my BFA in Jazz Studies. Currently, I am pursuing my MFA in Performer/Composer at CalArts. Through the years I have had the privilege of studying with renowned guitarists including Larry Koonse, Miroslav Tadic, Adam Del Monte, Steve Trovato, and Pat Kelley.
I am excited to share my perspective and talk music with you all!
-Jake
